Chamiers Road (Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Salai):
Consequent to the new Fly-over work across Chamiers Road (Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Salai) and Cenotaph Road at Turnbulls Point, the following modifications are made from 12.02.2009 to till the work is completed.
- Heavy vehicles and commercial goods are prohibited into Cenotaph Road from Chamiers Road (Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Salai) and Turnbulls Road during the day time. MTC Buses however would be allowed on trial basis.
- However, other vehicles, two wheelers, three wheelers and four wheelers can use Cenotaph Road from Chamiers Road (Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Salai) and Turnbulls Road. Only one lane would be available for the movement of vehicles in this area.
- Other movement in the area would remain unchanged.
Public are requested to co-operate this.
Perambur:
The Corporation of Chennai Bridges Department has taken up the construction work of the Railway Over Bridge on Perambur High Road South. The stretch in between Jamaliya upto Perambur Sub-Way South, will be closed for vehicular traffic.
Hence the following modifications, in the movement of traffic will be implemented in the interest of public safety and convenience on 12/02/09 at 07.00 Am onwards.
- Car, Auto and Motor Cycles coming from Madavaram High Road and Siruvalluvar Salai intended to go to Ayanavaram and Puliyanthope will have to take the sub-way turn right - Pilkington Road, Anderson Road, Kunnore High Road Junction to reach their destination.
- Commercial Goods Vehicles and MTC Buses will not be allowed towards the Perambur Sub-Way these commercial vehicles will be diverted towards left Perambur High Road, Ganesapuram Bridge and Puliyanthope High Road to reach the destination.
- Only commercial vehicles coming from Medavakkam Tank Road, Kunnore High Road intended to go to Perambur will not be allowed towards Anderson Road, instead these vehicles will be diverted towards Kunnore High Road, Cooks Road, Stephenson Road, Ganesapuram Bridge and Perambur High Road to reach their destination.

Cenotaph Road:
Consequent to the Pipeline laying work on Cenotaph Road, the following traffic arrangements are made.
- Cenotaph Road is closed for Vehicular traffic from Chemiers Road and Turn bulls Junction.
- The Vehicles hither to proceeding towards Cenotaph Road from Chamiers Road will be diverted towards Chamiers Road and towards TTK Salai.
- Likewise vehicles coming from Turn bulls Road from Kotturpuram bridge will be diverted towards Chamiers Road and towards TTK Salai.
The existing system on Chamiers Road and Cenotaph Road will Continue.
The above traffic arrangements are made till work is completed on 27.01.2009 with immediate effect.

EVR Salai:
In the evening the Volume of Traffic on EVR Salai Particularly from Taylors Road Junction to Flowers Road Junction is increasing day by day resulting in traffic congestion. The other reason for this congestion at this corridor is the existing of four Major Junctions with in a short distance of one KM. To over come this hurdle a study has been conducted and accordingly a small modification in the moment of traffic as one way on Burnaby road on temporary basis for a period not exceeding a month will be implemented in the interest of public safety and convenience from 20.12.2008 between 17.30 hrs to 19.30 hrs which would ease the traffic congestion on this corridor.
- The movement of vehicles from EVR Salai towards Barnaby Road will ply as usual.
- The stretch of road from Barnaby Road to EVR Salai would be one way during the period with vehicles moving from EVR Salai towards Barnaby.
- Those Vehicles coming from Balfour Road taking right on Manickeswari Road towards Barnaby Road will not be allowed.
- Those Vehicles coming from Balfour road intended to EVR Salai would here after take the route Via Ormes Road, Ponniamman Koil Junction Right Flowers road to reach their destination.
- Vehicles coming from Raja Rathinam street intending to move towards EVR Salai could move via Manikeswari Road, Ormes road, Flowers road to reach EVR Salai.

Usman Road:
In consequent to the inauguration of flyover on Usman Road a Press Note was given on 17.08.2008. However, in continuation of the press note, certain modifications were made for the convenient of the general public with effect from 25.08.2008.
- The vehicles coming from Usman Road New Fly over towards South Usman Road will be allowed towards South Usman road which was prohibited earlier.
- The traffic coming from Madly Sub Way will be allowed to take left in to Usman Road, to right into South Usman Road and straight towards Burkit Road which was prohibited earlier.
- Burkit Road will remain one way with entry from Madly Round About and No Entry from V.N. Road and Burkit Road Junction.
- Two way movement of vehicles would be allowed on Venkatnarayana Road which was prohibited earlier from Anna Salai towards Burkit Road on Venkatnarayana Road.
- Buses hitherto moving on Muthurangan Salai could now move on South Usman Road instead.
- At present, other than these modifications, there would not be any other modifications implemented at this Junction and the remaining traffic movements at this junction would remain the same.

Eldams Road Junction:
The volume of traffic on the corridor of Eldams Road Junction has shown a considerable increase in the past few years. To minimize the waiting time and ease traffic congestion at this corridor a study has been undertaken. According to the study few modifications in the movement of traffic have been proposed to ease the traffic congestion. Based on the recommendation the following modifications in the movement of traffic would be implemented in an experimental basis in the interest of public safety and convenience for a period of one month from 23.08.2008 at 07.00 hrs.
Eldams Road X Anna Salai Junction:
Vehicle coming on Eldams Road and intending to proceed towards Thiyagaraya Road is prohibited at the junction of Eldams Road.
These vehicles will here after take right turn into Anna Salai and take the route via: Anna Salai, Vijayaraghava Road, Nair Road to reach Thiyagaraya Road.
The vehicles coming on Anna Salai from Anna Fly Over side intending to proceed towards Thiyagaraya Road is prohibited at the junction of Eldams Road.
These vehicles can here after take right turn into Vijayaragahava Road at the junction of Anna Salai X Vijayaraghava Road and take the route via Vijayaraghava Road, Nair Road to reach Thiyagaraya Road.
Vijayaraghava Road:
The portion of Vijayaraghava Road between North Boag Road X Vijayaraghava Road junction and Anna Salai X Vijayaraghava Road is made as one way with an entry from Anna Salai and No entry from North Boag Road.
The vehicles coming on Vijayaraghava Road from Anna Salai intending to take left turn into North Boag Road and proceed towards Thiyagaraya Road is prohibited.
The vehicles coming on Vijayaraghava Road from Nair Road side and North Boag Road intending to proceed towards Anna Salai through Vijayaraghava Road is prohibited beyond North Boag Road x Vijayaraghava Road junction.
North Boag Road:
The portion of North Boag Road between Thiyagaraya Road x North Boag Road junction and Vijayaraghava Road x North Boag Road is made as one way with an entry from North Boag Road x Vijayaraghava Road junction and No entry from Thiryagaraya Road x North Boag Road junction.
The vehicles coming on Thiyagaraya Road from Anna Salai and Pondy Bazzar side intending to take right or left turn into North Boag Road is prohibited.
The vehicles coming on Raman Street and Venkataraman Street intending to take left turn into North Boag Road towards Vijayaragava Road junction is prohibited.

Festival season traffic management
T.Nagar Area
During Pooja and Depavali Festival Season. The hole T. Nagar area blooms with shopping activities of all kinds of Textiles and Jeweler, with an average of 30 to 40 thousand people visiting the area daily. Special Scheme are drawn and traffic Manage in the following manner.
Making Circular movement of Traffic-(oneway. Separate Entry and exit).
Parking lots identified, School Grounds utilized for parking in the evening and on Holidays.
Pressing into service extra man power from other area.
Utilizing the services of NCC, NSS, RSP, Home Guards and Traffic Warden and CSR's for Traffic regulation.
In liaison with MTC, shifting of Bus stops to facilitate commuters.
Similarly on NSC Bose Road, P.H. Road & T.H. Road, Traffic is managed during festival season by drawing special shames. Temple / Church Festivals. Like wise traffic arrangements are made through special schemes during Mylapore Kapaleeswar Temple Festival and Besant Velankanni Church Festival and Thirupathi umbrella procession with little inconvenience to the General Public.
