Automatic LED Signals
World-over Municipalities are converting conventional incandescent bulb traffic light with LED traffic light due to tangible benefit. In India this trend is fast catching up and CMS as the prime mover has taken the initiative to introduce this technology.
LED traffic signal/Retrofitting program by many Municipalities/Traffic Police Authorities in cities like Surat, Noida, Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Kolkata, Bangalore, most of the cities in Tamilnadu, etc. have installed CMS LED.
There are 227 LED [ Light Emitting Diodes] Automatic Signals are functioning very effectively in Chennai for the regulation of Traffic, and there are 116 new LED Signals are going to be installed very soon.
Features:
- Increased Safety
- Better for the Environment
- Energy Savings to the tune of 85-90% compared to incandescent lamp
- Lower Life Cycle
- The visibility of this signal more than the old signal [ Incandescent Bulb]
- The power consumption for this signal is very low.
- The maintenance cost very minimum.
- Low failure rate
- The life of this signal is very long [ Approx. 10 years]
OLD Signal :
Instead of LED in this old signal incandescent bulbs [ 100 Watts ] were used, hence visibility of this is very low. The life of this is maximum of 6 months and the maintenance cost is higher than the LED Signal.
Hence, in Chennai Traffic we are using the LED [ Light Emitting Diode ].
